By: Laken Taylor

Every interior designer has some tricks up their sleeves and with twenty first century technology it sure got a lot easier. Here’s a list of applications you can get right on your phone!

Sherwin Williams Color Snap:

  • Build Color Palettes
  • Color Match Photos
  • Scan Color Numbers
  • Paint Calculator

This little app is fun and super handy to have on hand. Of course as designers we love to have all our color swatches on hand and get accurate color matches, but with this app it makes your life so much easier. I love to use it in beginning stages of a project to help select color palettes and even help clients visualize color in the space. Definitely worth a download, plus it’s Free!

Curate:

This handy free app helps you visualize your art work. Take photos in real time, add your own image, or add one of their thousands of art options. Assists with scale of art and choosing the perfect piece for your space.

Magic Plan:

Use your phone camera to create floor plans of existing spaces fast! With the Magic Plan app, all you need to do is use your camera on your phone and walk the space. The app then maps out square footage and area. You can add objects into your space from their vast library of options, or even create estimates for paint, flooring, electrical, etc. You can then export the information in many different formats.

Pantone Studio:

Have you ever wanted to capture that blue of the ocean from your favorite beach vacation? Or the sunrise from that one time you traveled out west? Now you can with My Pantone App, just extract the color right out of your images. Also, you can test and play with color pallets on graphics or interiors before you decide.
