Servant Leadership

Servant Leadership

By:  Lee Boyland As we near the end of the year (can you believe 2014 is almost over!?!), we tend to reflect on the year’s accomplishments and evaluate our performance. In which areas have we succeeded and in which can we improve? One of the many reasons I am so proud to work for IDO is because of the genuine interest our leadership team has in performing a job well done. This quality is proudly demonstrated by the consistent approach they have taken in truly serving the customer and delivering a smooth, complete project. They have set a great example to their teams by putting the customer first, maintaining excellent communication and holding themselves accountable for their responsibilities. Hearing compliments paid to our leaders for a job well done makes me proud of my teammates and their efforts, as well as serves as motivation to work hard(er) and to do my best on all of the tasks and projects that I am involved in – big or small! To tie into this statement is a quote I heard recently – here is my paraphrased version: “Every great success is an accumulation of many small passionate efforts and actions that some may never see or get to fully appreciate.” Our leadership team is also quick to take a back seat and give credit where credit is due by openly and selflessly passing on the recognition received from clients. Working closely with my managers over the past 6 years has provided me with many positive experiences and numerous learning opportunities that have helped me to grow and develop professionally. So, as this year of 2014 winds down, I just want to take this opportunity to thank my managers for all of their hard work, dedication, loyalty and willingness to always be there for their IDO teams and for helping us to succeed as well. Take some time out to recognize your leadership, and let them know how much they are appreciated. Happy Holidays!
