After graduating from Purdue University in May of 2000, Melinda joined CSO Architects as a design associate working with Duke Realty in tenant finish design and facility management. From there, she became a Lead Designer working with Eli Lilly in the design of the K147 Administrative Building. After deciding to work part-time to be with her children, she was contracted through Lynn Hynes Design Associates, Darwin Branded Environments, and Hotel Solutions. Melinda’s design career has also included many church renovations and residential experiences through her own interior design business Rooted Structure Design.
Melinda began working full-time with IDO Incorporated earlier this year and loves being back on a team dedicated to great design. She has always had a passion and love for interiors as well for the clients she works with. She enjoys working through logistics and details to make sure the design fits their needs and creates a space in which everyone loves to work. Melinda became an NCIDQ Certificate holder in October 2004 and is working to become a Registered Interior Designer.
Outside of the workplace, she has always enjoyed interiors and getting her hands dirty. She definitely falls into the DIY crowd who loves to craft, paint, and build items from scratch. She used to hand-paint large decorative signs and sell them at shows and fell in love with supporting other handmade vendors we well. She, along with a friend, started and run an outdoor Handmade and Vintage event that takes place three times a year called The Southside Vintage Marketplace.
