This past October at the Great Lakes Women’s Business Council (WBENC) Symposium featuring the Awards of Distinction, I was extremely honored to receive the Award of Distinction for Indiana WBE (Women Business Enterprise) Volunteer of the Year. I am very grateful for the recognition I have received for my work, because I am very sure that there were others who were as capable if not more, of winning this award.
Winning this award would not have been possible without the inspiration I have received from my fellow WBE’s, the WBENC Staff and my colleagues, for whom I have the deepest respect, and from whom I have derived the strength to challenge myself and perform better at each stage of my career. I have truly learned the value of continuous learning and knowledge sharing during my long career, and the WBENC organization continues to provide me with so many wonderful opportunities to do just that.
Additionally, I sincerely thank each member of our IDO Team for helping me reach a stage where I can proudly hold up this award as a mark of my achievement. The company you keep effects and reflects who you become and where you’re headed. All of us need a “positive crew” that helps to build you up and offer constructive criticism as you need. Trusted business associates, real friends and loved ones are there for you every time you climb higher in this world, and they continue to lift you up.
It is acknowledgements like this WBENC Indiana Volunteer of the Year award, that makes one happy to go to work every day knowing that you are contributing to something bigger than yourself, learning something new, having fun, and going home happy until the next day begins.
With my deepest gratitude and thanks!
