And the Winner is…You Can Help Decide

By: Janet H. Thomas, RID Last week I attended the Student Design Day at IUPUI to promote the Interior Design profession and answer student questions around Interior Design, professional practice and IDO Incorporated. An industry colleague, Chris Stuhl was also there representing Dal-Tile. Chris spoke about a student design competition co-sponsored by Dal-Tile and the American Society of Interior Designers. Operation Renovation challenges undergraduate design students in accredited interior design programs to develop a design solution for a real world space and client. The challenge is two-fold, asking for the student to address functional issues and enhance aesthetics while incorporating Dal-Tile products. The winning students receive scholarship money to offset the cost for their Interior Design school tuition, books and fees. While the submission period has ended, the public at large is encouraged to vote for their favorite solution. Check out the highly creative entries and vote for your favorites. Voting is open until 11:59 P.M. (PDT) on April 8th, 2014. For undergraduate students who missed the deadline this year start thinking ahead to the 2015 competition.
