Pino, FMP Back on 12.1.2014, my esteem IDO colleague and teammate, Rhonda Wessel, crafted an awesome blog about our firm’s “Introducing New technology into Field Verification.” In a “Cliff Notes” round about summary, Rhonda boasted about the recent implementation of “a new electronic way to gather information that is quicker, better, and more accurate” than the way we used to conduct lab equipment inventories. It only took a few minutes and a couple of simple keystrokes to get this old dog to buy on to the concept – hook, line and sinker! After Rhonda shared her positive experiences which she encountered with a similar application (that was used for the Wishard Hospital relocation to the new Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital), I knew this was just what we were looking for. I was lucky to be a part of the negotiation and test pilot stages, and then actually got to use the IDO accuPro on an out of state lab equipment inventory project that proved the IDO accuPro application to be worth its weight in gold! In fact, I couldn’t even imagine ever going back to the prehistoric way of performing a lab equipment & instrument inventory. On budget and on time… In addition to the IDO accuPro mobile device allowing us to electronically conduct and capture very thorough and comprehensive lab equipment inventories – in a “once and done” accurate process, the other major benefit lands on the client with them being the recipient of a huge budgetary dollar savings outcome. Quicker, more accurate input minus a duplication of effort equals less time on the initial phase of the project, thus yielding a project advantage that allows our other business partners and disciplines to handle their responsibilities in an expeditious manner as well. As the “old schooler” who would usually “stick with the tried and true way” of doing things, once I stepped out of my boomer comfort zone and actually used the very user friendly IDO accuPro method, I haven’t looked back! This new dog (me) has found this state-of-the-art technology to be a worthwhile investment to our firm and the client.
