Indiana Interior Design Programs

Indiana Interior Design Programs

By: Yvonne Rush & Lindsay Ferro As mentors in the ACE program and often active still in speaking at our Alma Mater, we love educating future and current students about Interior Design! As the Indianapolis City Center Student Affairs Chair for IIDA Indiana, I (Yvonne) was recently researching what schools in Indiana offer Interior Design Programs. After reading how many schools there are and how each program varies from the other, we thought we would do a breakdown of ID programs in Indiana for those considering becoming an Interior Designer. Indiana has 10 colleges with Interior Design programs, of which five are CIDA Accredited schools. CIDA, the Council for Interior Design (formerly FIDER), reviews professional level (university) programs that voluntarily place themselves for evaluation of their curriculum, student work, and overall organization to assure the public and future employers that their students are leaving as well-informed and skilled professionals that are able to create safe and pleasing environments. While you do not need to attend a CIDA accredited school to get a job or become NCIDQ certified, it is highly encouraged. It is often a more efficient way of achieving both your license/registration and employment at a high-regarded firm.   CIDA Accredited Programs
