Amanda Medlen

RID, LEED AP ID + C

Amanda began her IDO career in college, as an intern, in the summer of 2003. Additionally, she helped her colleagues at IDO during her school breaks. Amanda graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Interior Design and officially joined IDO Incorporated shortly after graduation. Since that time, Amanda has acquired NCIDQ and LEED AP ID+C professional design accreditations as a commitment to her profession and professional development. Perhaps more than her own personal development, she is passionate and dedicated to the professional development of colleagues and other professional designers.

This passion has led her to volunteer as a mentor for EDGE Mentoring. This organization bridges faith, personal lives, and professional selves for whole-person development. She participates as a mentor and facilitator of a group of young professional women, in various industries and locations, and is excited to develop these relationships personally and professionally.

Volunteerism and giving back to the community is something that is also very important to Amanda. She has a huge heart and passion for the community and the people in which it serves. Currently, Amanda is serving as the Central Indiana WBE Forums Chair for the Great Lakes Women’s Business Council and on the Leadership Team Board for the Indy Chamber Ambassador program.

Having balanced many assignments across multiple job sites, and clients, Amanda is well versed in leading and managing complex projects. This is evident in the variety of spaces IDO has had the privilege to facilitate for their clients. Her loyalty and dedication to IDO, and their clients, is contagious and radiates to colleagues and clients who work with her.

Outside of the office, Amanda has an active family with two kids in sports, Carson in basketball, baseball, and football and Ryleigh in basketball, softball and trying out volleyball with mom as a coach. Amanda too is active and is often found biking or walking in her neighborhood, watching sports, and having dinner with friends and family. She has been married to her best friend and high school sweetheart, Jake, since 2004 and enjoys playing and snuggling with their rescue puppy TJ (Thomas Jefferson). Amanda, who admits to having a “sweet tooth”, indulges her love for all things sweet by baking frequently for her friends, family, and coworkers.
