Ashley Hotz
Ashley has a unique path that led her to design. In 2017, she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Ball State University. After college, she moved to Broad Ripple and started working for a large construction management company as a project accountant. She immediately fell in love with the commercial construction industry but felt like she had too much creative energy to be in accounting forever.
Ashley first crossed paths with IDO when she participated in the Habitat for Humanity Women’s build in 2019. During the build, she engaged in conversations with IDO employees that sparked her interest in exploring interior design. One thing led to another and she enrolled part-time in the Interior Design Technology program at IUPUI in the Fall of 2020.
From the moment, she took Intro to Interior Design she immediately knew she had made the right decision in exploring a career change. Ashley spent the next two years balancing school and a full-time accounting career by taking night classes, online classes, and sprinting to IUPUI on lunch breaks. She decided to finally make the jump and will be full-time in the Interior Design program spring of 2023. She has so much excitement and passion for Interior Design and can not wait to create spaces that have a positive impact on others at IDO.
In her free time, she loves going to yoga, taking her dog Frankie on walks, traveling, and working on home improvement projects with her husband Quinten.
