Sara is a proud Michigan State Spartan who graduated in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and a minor in Theatre. She attributes her passion for design to growing up with a DIY attitude from her engineer father, and a strong love of art, music, and theatre from her multi-talented mother. Her very first interior design project was at age 10, when she assisted her father in the design, construction, and furnishing of her backyard treehouse.
Before joining IDO in the fall of 2016, Sara gained valuable experience in facilities design, project management, and specification of commercial furniture. As a seasoned member of the team now, she oversees projects through all phases of the design process. She earned her NCIDQ certification in 2018 and is LEED Green Associate accredited, proving to be a valuable asset to the IDO team in the field of sustainable design.
Sara has a strong passion for nature, often spending her time outside of work camping, hiking, gardening, and visiting National Parks. She loves incorporating sustainable materials into her projects and educating her clients and coworkers about ways to reduce waste and carbon emissions.
Outside of the office, Sara loves to travel, go to concerts, and tend to her growing collection of houseplants.
