By: Lee Boyland As you may know, the month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Many organizations put forth efforts to raise awareness and make donations to support research in hopes to end this disease. From nation-wide efforts, such as the NFL teams that sport pink attire, to local efforts, such as my husband’s fire department where he and his co-workers wear pink uniform shirts during October. Seeing “pink” all around me, I was reminded of a special line from Mayer Fabrics called Positive Thoughts Collection. It was created to support the Common Thread for the Cure Foundation. This Crypton collection features patterns such as “Fairy Tales” and “Cuddle Up” that help invoke a sense of comfort for patients in a healthcare setting battling cancer. Can you think of any unique programs raising money and/or awareness of this disease that are specifc to the interior design industry? To our clients, what are some programs raising awareness within your organization or industry? Image and information borrowed from Mayer Fabrics NeoCon Press Release.
