In January 2021, IDO Incorporated engaged with this long-term corporate client on an administrative area design project. This portion of the project was part of a larger lab consolidation project where IDO used a holistic approach to provide an all-inclusive design package for the client.
The holistic approach taken through the duration of the project included: specialized move management of moving the occupants out of the space(s), coordinating existing furniture teardown, specifying finishes and furniture, coordinating the FF&E installation, and moving the occupants back into the space(s).
The project posed a design challenge for the team. The new administrative footprint shrunk to less than half of what it was previously to allow for new laboratory space. The IDO team worked diligently to make the best use of available space by providing a collection of workstations, collaboration areas, meeting rooms, and individual focus booths for the end users.
As for the interior design, this project established the use of a new standard palette for this client. Cooler accent colors with dark and light neutrals were developed to play into the overall mood of this area. Wood was a highlighted finish and used on a ceiling architectural design feature, accent walls, and various finishes throughout to bring a balance of natural warmth into the spirit of this new palette. The inspiration for this project was monochromatic with green, blue, and purple accent fabric and other accent pieces.
The project was completed in December 2022.
