Ivy Tech Community College – Center for Workforce and Economic Development
Greencastle, IN
IDO Incorporated was fortunate to partner with American Structurepoint to complete the Campus Revitalization project at Ivy Tech Community College of Kokomo. Four buildings on the campus support administration and student programs through training and hands-on learning labs; including traditional and non-traditional classrooms.
Building 1 renovations include a refreshed reception space, Executive Boardroom, classrooms, and restrooms. An addition to the building provided new space for Administration open and private offices, the Chancellor’s Office suite, huddle and conference rooms.
A new construction project, Building 2 houses Electrical, Robotics, Dental, and Nursing. Specific to Nursing, spaces such as a nursing simulation lab, operating room (OR) simulation room, and paramedic rooms were designed with real-world applications in mind. In these rooms, traditional classroom space is located adjacent to hands-on teaching space.
In Buildings 3 and 4, renovations were made to modernize and improve the facilities which offer HVAC, Welding, Electrical and Automotive training.
A highlighted aspect of this project was the development of a multi-purpose Community Room in Building 2, where the College and community can gather to host seminars, meetings and celebratory events. A light filled lobby space welcomes visitors to the Community Room as they pass through a wood portal flanked by a custom designed, branded wall mural.
