Located in Bloomington, Indiana, the IU Regional Academic Health Center is the proud home to a state-of-the-art academic building for many of IU Bloomington’s health sciences programs as well as a new hospital built for the future of health care. This project, the former site of Indiana University’s driving range, began in 2018 and was completed in 2020. The new hospital is slated for completion in December 2021. For this project, IDO Incorporated participated in the Design Development Phase of the project with HOK Architects. Working hand-in-hand with HOK, the IDO Team developed wayfinding points of reference and developed feature design solutions in the main lobby. Thus allowing for a sense of identity for the various departments within the medical school. Lastly, the Team created continuity between the dining space of the hospital and the entry experience into the educational facility. IDO completed the Design Development Phase of the Academic Health Center and Four Point Design executed the remainder of the project. We are incredibly proud of the partnership between IDO, HOK, and Four Point Design on this healthcare design project.
