Interestingly, many designers (usually residential) survey their clients to determine a client’s perfect color palette. While one may be interested in finding out what their color personality is, do the results really equal the perfect colors for your home? A recent Sherwin-Williams Stir article by Kelly Porter, “Living Style: Do Color Quizzes Pass the Test?” revealed results from her findings. She gathered a small focus group who took one of two lifestyle color personality tests. The results were very interesting: half of the participants’ results accurately revealed colors they’d like to see and the other half’s results were not preferred colors at all. I decided to take the quiz myself, out of curiosity, and my results were not colors I would have chosen for my home.
